About Us
We have contracts with SRC Recycling for collection of all vehicles located in Scotland. We are also recommended Hauliers for Copart UK , and Bluecycle Scotland depots.
Copart was founded in 1982 by CEO Willis J. Johnson and sells more than one million vehicles each year with an extensive inventory of more than 50,000 vehicles available for bidding each day.
Bluecycle has been trading since 2000 and is one of the UK’s leading online car salvage auction sites, specialising in car salvage, motorcycle, plant, equipment and commercial salvage.
The majority of cars displayed on these sites have been damaged in some way or another and we therefore strongly recommend viewing of the vehicles prior to purchase. Furthermore, all salvage vehicles are "sold as seen" and the photographic images provided on the site are for guidance purposes only. Unless previously arranged our drivers do not check damage on collection from these sites.
There are a number of types of salvage, for your assistance below is a list of salvage terminology.
Unrecorded Salvage - These are insurance damaged vehicles, or stolen recovered vehicles that have not been recorded as salvage vehicles with the local department of motor vehicles.
Accident Damaged/Repairable Salvage - If the assessor decides to declare the vehicle a total loss it will be placed into one of four categories:
- Category A: Scrap only - The vehicle must be totally destroyed, including all of its parts.
- Category B: Break for spare parts – Spare parts may be re-sold, but the body-shell should be destroyed so that the vehicle cannot be returned to the road.
- Category C: Repairable total loss vehicles where repair costs including VAT exceed the vehicle's pre-accident value
- Category D: Repairable total loss vehicle where repair costs including VAT do not exceed the vehicle's pre-accident value
Safety is the main concern with accident damaged vehicles, and we are experienced in ensuring all vehicles are braced and tied down for absolute security during transportation.
